The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No I'm not talking about Christmas. Today was a day that only comes around one time a year. Today was post-wide yard sale day! For those that don't know, yard sale season here on Ft. Rich is kicked off by having one day where everyone who chooses to participate can set up in their yard and sell their crap. What's even better is that it's open to the public and civilians have the opportunity to come and browse our wares too.

This day is great for two obvious reason: 1) We get to pick up some bargains and 2) We get to sell the crap that has accumulated in our basement... And we had a lot of it! We mostly had old toys to sell, winter coats, and Chase's old clothes. We also had a few household items. I think we did rather well in the sense that we got rid of the big stuff which is what was taking up the most space. I suggested that we set up a refreshments table with soda, water, and candy bars but it really didn't go over that well. That's okay because you can never have enough soda and water around the house.

So we made some bucks and whatever we didn't sell we took to the thrift store. The fact that we can see the basement floor again makes the whole day a success.
