29... And Holding!

For those that don't know, today marks the end of an era for me. Alas, the time has come for me to say "goodbye" to my 20s and start a whole new decade. I'll admit I'm not very happy about it. I don't like getting older and I rather liked being in my 20s. Now instead of being one of the youngest around, I'm now becoming one of the oldest and that just doesn't feel good at all. On the bright side though: Jason and I are finally in the same decade!

Seriously though, this day has given me a chance to look back at what I've done in my 20s. I had two beautiful children (I got married when I was 19 so that doesn't count!). I battled cancer and survived. I've traveled to places that most people dream of. I've met absolutely wonderful people (and some not-so wonderful). I renewed an old-set goal and went back to school. Lastly, I managed to find faith in Christ. It really isn't too shabby looking back on it. I guess I just liked being viewed as "young" rather than "closer to middle age".

At least I have Jason, who, feeling that today I needed to feel like a kid again, bought me the radio control truck that I never got as a kid. He said that if we were in the lower 48 right now, he would've bought me the dirtbike I always wanted (but was never allowed to have). I may be bummed about it but if I can spend my next 30 years with him and my babies, I think I'll be okay.

You are now officially 29 with one year of experience. When you are 39 you'll have 10 years' experience! That's how I look at it. Either that, or I say, "this year, I'm celebrating the 15th anniversary of my 29th birthday" Either way, it's funny and you feel better!
