It Is Finished!

For those that don't know by now, Jason arrived home from Afghanistan last night. Let me tell, by the time we were about 2 hours away from homecoming, I was so restless that nothing could keep me busy!
So the guys had arrived on the scheduled day but not the scheduled time. Most of the flights up till this point had been delayed and I was really hoping his wouldn't be one of them, mostly because I didn't want to keep the kids out too late. The flight before his didn't arrived until midnight so you can understand my problem. The guys were first scheduled to arrive at 8:30pm which I didn't think was too bad. But then I receive a phone call from a friend saying the flight had been delayed. Much to my horror, it had been postponed to 11pm.

*sigh* I really, really did not want to have the kids out that late. And as much as he wanted to see his babies, Jason wouldn't want them out that late either. So I asked my neighbor if he would come sit at the house while the kids slept and they would see their Daddy in the morning. Jorden was a little bummed but she understood. Chase was just like, "Whatever."
I wasn't planning on arriving at the gym until 10:45 but my friend Liz had called around 9pm and said the place was starting to fill up. I got ready and was out the door around 10. It was packed! We hung out, I met some new people, and just basically did whatever we could to pass the time.

Finally the clock struck 11 and the music started. WOOHOO!! The soldiers filed in and I was standing on the first row bleachers looking for Jason. He was looking for me and I screamed his name so he would find me (he did). The ceremony was only 10-15 minutes long and then they were all dismissed. Jason grabbed his gear and we were out the door!

Jason was a little disappointed that the kids weren't there but completely understood. They were sound asleep when we got home. So they got their hugs for Daddy the next morning. Let me tell you, normally I have to drag Jorden out of bed for school but her alarm went off and she was up, asking if Daddy was here!

Not sure what's on tap for the next few days. We just want to enjoy being a family again.
