Getting ready for Easter

Holy crap it was a busy day! We are all exhausted. Jason and his dad spent most of the day putting up our fence in the backyard. They got about halfway done. They probably would have gotten the whole thing done except the auger (or "dirt drill") got hung up on some roots and had to be dug out twice. Jack asked me if I had a problem with them finishing tomorrow since it's Easter Sunday. I said, "Well I'm not doing squat tomorrow but if you want to finish, go right ahead!" But the fence looks great so far and I can't wait to let out my little hoodlums outside by themselves!

While Jason and Jack were taking care of their project, I spent the day doing laundry (it is Saturday, after all!) and getting ready for tomorrow. One thing we don't do for Easter (and everyone thinks we're crazy for it) is we don't decorate eggs. It just doesn't make any sense for us because no one eats them. They'll just sit in the house and get nasty. So instead we decorate cookies. They look really great and I did get a picture but Jason is on the other computer right now so I'll post them later. Jason's mom and I also went out and got the stuff for their baskets. One thing I discovered is instead of putting a lot of candy in their baskets, we just bought those 100 calorie packs and the kids got 3 apiece. They also got 2 outfits each, 3 small things of bubbles, a baggie full of twizzlers (a staple in this house!), a baggie full of jellybeans, and a small toy. Good thing we bought the bigger baskets! I also got a picture of them but as I said earlier, it will have to wait until Jason is done with the other computer.

So after Jack and Jason decided to knock off for the day we all went back to their hotel and went swimming. For an indoor pool, it was a bit chilly so we didn't swim for very long and we just went to unwind in the hotel room. The kids played for a bit then we headed home. *phew* What a day! Thank goodness tomorrow isn't going to be as crazy.
