Shopping With The Easter Bunny

Easter in our house is a little different in the sense that the kids get very little candy in their baskets. They mostly get little toys, a new outfit, and a few pieces of chocolate and/or jellybeans. After all, what's Easter without Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs and Jelly Bellys? (Sorry, no Peeps. I can't stand those nasty marshmallow concoctions.)

Today the kids went to Saturday respite care so I took the precious opportunity to do some shopping with them not around. They each got a new outfit but it took me forever to pick something out for Jorden. Unfortunately it's the season where stores are bringing out their summer stuff and the kids may not get to wear shorts while we're up here. So after about an hour of cruising around the girls section, I finally settled on a black t-shirt, a black cardigan, and khaki pants. She also got a Tinkerbell coloring book with water colors, a Ponyville playset, a Pixos refill, an EasyBake oven refill, and some sugary goodies as well.

Chase is much easier to shop for when it comes to clothes. A button down shirt and a pair of khaki pants took me all of 20 minutes to put together. Toys, however, are a different issue. His taste in toys is so fickle. He make like trains one minute then never play with them again. So I settled on some things that really never get old. He got a pack of Matchbox cars, a pack of PlayDoh, a Spongebob DVD box set, and also some sugary goodies. (I gave Jorden just a bit more because of Chase's fickle tastes)

So the Easter Bunny will be visiting us after church on Sunday. I'm going to get my neighbor to come over and set the baskets out while we're gone. I spent about 3 hours in Target trying to decide what to stuff in their baskets. I get the feeling Christmas is going to be a nightmare.
