The snow is starting to melt here. Finally! I guess it's safe to assume that spring is on it's way. The roads and sidewalks are finally clear enough to where I was able to let Chase and Jorden ride their scooters outside. We are seeing patches of grass everywhere and there are even some yards where there's almost no snow at all. There are a couple downfalls to having all the snow gone: First, with the snow disappearing, I'm seeing that there's a bunch of trash and yard debris all over my lawn. Apparently the contractors didn't clean up very well after they remodeled. I'll be picking up trash and raking up those small pine cones for awhile.
Second, the melting snow and ice are causing puddles to form everywhere. So picking up Jorden from school is an interesting challenge. Keeping Chase from jumping in all the puddles is next to impossible. Then of course everything is freezing back up overnight so walking to school in the morning would involve a pair of ice skates.
All in all I really am glad that spring is on it's way. Not because of the weather but because it reminds me that time is progressing and Jason will be home soon.
