Jason arrived home last Wednesday. His flight was delayed about 45 minutes but the attendant at the military lounge let us hang out there until he arrived. Normally they don't let dependents in without the sponsor but the man was really understanding. So we hung out, watched movies, and played games while we waited. Jason arrived and his babies nearly knocked him down the stairs while jumping in his arms.
Because I wasn't exactly sure what day he would be flying in, the kids were still scheduled to go to daycare Thursday and Friday. That worked out well because with the kids gone it gave Jason time to get some much needed rest. On Friday while the kids were gone we did some shopping.
Before I tell you what we got at the store you need a bit of background. After we sold our house we used our profit to pay off our sea of debt. So we moved up here and the only debt we had was our vehicles, which was nice! Then Jason gets deployed but didn't get his added pay until recently. So we fell into a mountain of back pay. We then decided to have a little fun at Best Buy. I bought my own laptop which is replacing my desktop (but I'm keeping it for backup). I hooked up the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer to it and basically use it as my hard drive. But if I need to, I can just unhook and go which is nice. Plus I won't have to sort through Jason's crap because it's all on his laptop. We also got a new digital camcorder that records to memory stick. The one we had before used the Hi-8 tapes which were a pain to try to transfer. Jason also picked up a new MP3 player because his crapped out on him. Normally we don't go this crazy but it felt really good to buy nice things and not worry about going into the poor house.
My inlaws arrived on Saturday. Most of you know how I feel about Jason's parents. I'm still not thrilled with the fact that I have to share Jason's R&R but I will do my best to make the best of it. This leave time is not about me, it's about him.
Since you managed to read this long post, enjoy some pictures of us at the airport.
