Saving And Splurging

Saving: Today I taught Jorden just what we do when our piggy banks get full. Hers had been ready to explode for awhile so I showed her how we empty it out, roll up the coins, and deposit them in the bank for a rainy day. Unfortunately I don't have access to her savings account (it's in PA) so for now we will deposit her loot in my former Avon account. She's really excited about the idea of saving her money and she also has a goal as to what she wants to use it for. That money that she saved in her bank for so long will go towards her new fish tank.

Splurging: On the other end of the spectrum, we will do a big splurge. Jorden needs new glasses. Before we had just gone to WalMart and got the cheapest frames. It's a good thing we got the extended warranty because she went through 3 pairs already. So this time we'll get her the sturdier plastic frames (the super bendy ones are just too expensive) with the poly-carbonite transitions lenses. We went around to 4 different places and had Jorden pick out a pair she liked. From there we got a full price on everything. As it turns out, LensCrafters was actually the cheapest so far. So we may be spending more but we're getting better quality. Sometimes you just have to get the good stuff.
