Sold!!

I'm so excited I could burst!

We had a showing for our house yesterday. Later in the afternoon our realtor, Tina, called to say that it made the short list. That means that out of all the houses that the prospective buyers saw, the picked two or three that they liked. So we could possibly get a second showing.

Today I got word from Tina that our house was picked. WE FOUND A BUYER!!!!!!! They did ask for a couple stipulations: the swingset would go with us and that we professionally clean the carpets prior to closing. Not a problem--we planned on doing both.

The only thing is that they want to close ASAP. So that means 30 days from now, we need to be out of the house. We do have a bit of a problem with that. Jason has not received final cut of orders yet. What's taking so long is EFMP in Alaska. We can't arrange travel or household goods shipping until we have final orders.

In order to solve this dilemma, Jason called EFMP in Alaska directly. We are good to go, the colonel has signed off, and when they call us back (the colonel wasn't in) all we need to tell him is that we need orders sent to Jason's AKO.

We were planning to get to Alaska before Jan 1 but that may not happen. Instead, we will be spending the holdays with our families and we'll just leave for Alaska from Pittsburgh.

It's true what they say: God may answer your prayers just not the way you wanted. So the house was sold (which is what we wanted) but our travel plans have changed (which isn't what we wanted). That's okay. Things worked out anyway.

Hey! We'll probably be in the 'Burgh at the same time then! We're leaving here on 20 Dec, and headed that way as well. Getting there 21 Dec, spending Christmas there, then leaving 26 Dec to go to SC!

But I'm THRILLED you sold the house! That's fantastic!!!
