It's Girl Scout cookie time! So far we've hit up just about everyone we know to buy cookies: family, friends, people at church, etc. Jorden was doing pretty well on her sales (seeing as how I'm doing the actual selling!) and it didn't take long for her to surpass her goal.
For the past two days the three of us hoofed around the neighborhood and peddled these cookies door-to-door. It was so much easier to do it when I was a kid. First of all, that was back in the day where you didn't need a parent to take you around. Second, I wasn't walking around in 10 degree weather like I was this time. It was bloody cold!! (good thing I bundled the kids up in their full snow gear) Naturally we all went around the neighborhood. Jorden and I walked, Chase rode in the wagon.
Hitting up the houses was interesting too. Jorden would ring the bell and say, "Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?" while Chase was picking off icicles or playing in someone's yard. Most of the time if we had a bite, people would invite us in so we could warm up for a few while they filled out the form. And of course my kids think that coming in gives them full rights to their house so they would try to "make themselves at home" and play with any toys or insist on petting their animals before we left. Cute story: At one house we stopped at, while Dad filled out the form and I chatted with Mom, their little boy (who was about 5 or 6) kept asking my kids "You wanna stay and play with me?"
So after 2 days, Jorden has sold about 50 more boxes which puts her over 100 total. We still have another week and a half to sell. So my question to you is, "Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?" :-)

I would, but I've been hit up by no less than 10 girl scout/brownies in the last few days. I've bought 4 boxes (about 4 more than I need, lol)...and promised 2 other girls I would buy a box from them.
Remember when they were CHEAP, too? I think it was $1 or $1.25 a box when I was selling them....
Yes! Back when I sold them they were $1.50 a box! Two years ago when I bought some I paid $3 a box. But I discovered that it's the individual councils that set the price. Ours are $4 a box and would you believe that Florida is more expensive than that?
