A Little Used Excuse

When it comes to being late, there's more excuses under the sun that people use to get themselves out of trouble. Well, here's a new one that I bet no one has ever used:

A turtle made me late.

Jorden was late for school this morning because of a turtle. Jorden found it in the driveway as we were getting in the car. Since I couldn't pull out without running the thing over, I had to move it. As I'm trying to grab it (that thing was fast for a turtle!), it's moving farther and farther under the car. At this point I can't reach it and I still can't pull out of the driveway. So I found a 2x4 and I'm trying to push the turtle out from under the car. I finally get the turtle out and I put it in the grass but it kept sneaking back over to the car. After the third time I moved it, it stayed in the grass long enough for me to pull out of the driveway.

It that wasn't enough, halfway to school Chase decides he has to pee. So we pull over at a McDonalds so he can go. It was just one of those mornings!
