I haven't had to potty train a child in over 4 years. So I was pretty nervous when we decided to start Chase on his way out of diapers. Throw on the fact that boys are way different then girls and we realized we had no clue where to start. But we were very, VERY grateful when Chase just took to it on his own--no muss, no fuss. It's now been about 3 weeks and he only wears diapers at night.
It's so funny how you go to being controlled by one thing to being controlled by another. Before, I was a slave to the diaper bag. I had to haul that big thing everywhere. You know the deal, make sure there's plenty of diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and an extra change of clothes for those leaky messes. Now that I only have to carry a spare pair of shorts and undies, I'm now a slave to the potty. Not only do I know who has the cheapest gas in Fayetteville but now I also know who has the best bathrooms. As soon as Chase says, "I pee-pee" it's off to the races to find a bathroom because you just never know how long he's been holding it and when he'll explode. And it's funny how accomodating people are when you say the words "potty training".
But really, I'm not complaining. We all know how much better using the toilet is to changing diapers. Chase loves wearing undies (boxer briefs, just so you know!) and my house smells much better without having diapers lingering in the trash. But I can do without emptying a potty chair. That's just as messy as a diaper.

I'm glad he's taking to potty training so well! That's always a tough one. I HATE cleaning out the potty chair. We finally got the toilet seat thing that sits on top of the regular toilet so we don't have to clean anything out. Good job, Chase!
