We are leaving for Alaska in December-right after Christmas to be exact. We have had no bites on our house yet. We've had showings, but no offers. This is a big problem.
This house needs to sell before we leave. Once we leave Ft. Bragg, there's no more BAH. Without BAH, we can't afford our mortgage. It's not that it's overly expensive because it is pretty cheap as far as mortagages go. But without that extra $900+ a month, we're screwed. I don't want to go into foreclosure when I know we would be just fine if we didn't have to move.
Jason thinks we'll be just fine but he's an idiot. Maybe if he didn't insist on buying his truck we might have been okay. And because he's so damn lazy, we now have to replace the linoleum in the bathroom. What happened was there was no sealant put where the tub meets the floor. When water got splashed out of the tub, it would go underneath the floor. I told him since we moved in that it needed to be sealed but he never did it. So now the floor is moldy from underneath and since you can't just replace a piece, the whole thing needs to be done. I'm hoping the subfloor is okay or else we'lll really be screwed.
This house needs to be gone. With every day we get closer to moving, the more weight gets put on my shoulders. I don't know what else to do to get it to sell.

My suggestion? If, by mid-November, it has not sold, contact your real estate agent and see if they would manage the property and put it up for rental property...either lease/own or lease only. This way, at least you would get money for it (to pay the mortgage, or at least a good part of it, though you may have some out of pocket expenses to pay for). You can work it out so that the house would be rented, but still be on the market for sale until finally sold.
something to think about.
