*I did take Jorden last Saturday to the farm her class went to. As soon as I find my camera I'll post the pictures*
So we were almost late for school this morning. The reason why is because I had to keep changing both Jorden and Chase in order to find something that fit.
The weather here has turned really cold all of a sudden. Ususally I have some time to go through their closets and take out all winter stuff from last year that doesn't fit (this time last year we were still in shorts!). But this year I didn't do that before the weather got cold so I'm doing it little by little.
Jorden will need an entire new wardrobe this year. The problem is shirts. She is all torso and arms so shirts with her don't last very long. I put a shirt from last year on her this morning and of course it didn't fit so we had to change. I usually have to get 2 sizes bigger just so I can get more than 6 months use out of it. She also needs winter pajamas because I've had to put aside 3 pairs that are too small. My sister is happy though. She gets all of Jorden's hand-me-downs. She has two girls so the clothes will go far. I've filled one box so far and I'm halfway through another one to send.
Chase has the same problem Jorden has with shirts: long torsos and arms. So I've got a nice pile of shirts in his closet that are too small. The nice thing with him is that I've aquired A LOT of hand-me-downs so he's pretty set on clothes for the coming winter. After changing his shirt twice this morning before I found one that fit, I got a surprise when I couldn't get his dress shoes on his feet. I'm pounding them on and he's going, "Ow, ow, ow!" So we're off to get new shoes (hooray for Payless and the Buy One Get One 1/2 Off!). He needs winter jammies also and a new winter coat. The one from last year still fits but I don't think it will stand up to the Alaskan winter.
I'm glad that this is the time of year that Jason gets his clothing allottment. Because that money almost always goes to buying winter clothes for the kids. I got a 25% off coupon to Children's Place (my favorite store) so I'm going there to stock up. I'm amazed how much they grow in just a year.

I just cleaned out the "winter wardrobe" for my daughter...here's what I do. I make her try one ONE pair of pants and ONE shirt that I know are too small. Then I just lay every other pair of pants or shirt on top of that first pair. If the length is the same (for the pants or the shirt sleeves, or the bottom of the shirt) I don't even bother having her try it on. If it is longer, I'll have her wear it...and if it's borderline, she'll wear it once and then I put it in the "too small-giveaway" pile. Much easier.
