Jason had an interesting day. He spent most of the day being the "grunt". He was the target for the sponge throw, he had to run after the wayward balls for the football toss, and because it really was a lot for Mrs. Z to handle, he also had to help control the masses. There were a bunch of games to play and although I wasn't there to get any pictures, I did get a picture of Jorden's hat. She got a sticker for each game she completed today.
This was the first time Jason had spent any extended time at Jorden's school so he was a bit lost. He was confused when it was lunchtime and one of the cafeteria ladies had to show him where to go to get the adult size lunches. And you know what? He said after all this time, school lunches still look gross!
I think the best part of the day for Jason was he discovered a new found appreciation for Jorden. Let's face it, Jorden probably has some sort of mental handicap. She may talk too much in class and she's not able to focus and get her work done, but she's certainly not disrespectful like most of the other kids are. He was just appalled at the attitudes of most of the kids in her class. She may not be able to control herself mentally but she knows right from wrong, she's polite, and she uses her manners. I think it made him feel good to know that he's doing something right as a parent! All in all, it was a very fun day for the both of them.

I don't know if my husband will ever be able to handle a school event like a field trip...I take care of all that stuff...and most times, like you, I can't participate because of having a younger child. But hopefully, he'll get into preschool and that will free me to volunteer in school a bit more!
Yeah for Jorden. When I was a teacher, I'd take the polite kids who struggled all day in school over the smart-mouth know-it-alls any day. I was going to say that I even married one, but that looks like I married one of my students which is horffically disgusting, but Jamie was one those polite kids who struggled in school.....so there ya go. =)
Oh, and yeah for Jason for being a good sport. =)
