I pick up Jorden from school and Mrs. Z says that she had an absolute horrible day. She didn't listen, didn't do any work, fidgeted all day long... it was almost like a 3 year old in a first grade class. So we get home and while I'm in the kitchen, Chase hands me something that he picks up off the floor. The "thing" in Chase's hand was Jorden's pill. That explains why Jorden had such a crappy day at school. Not only that but Jason and I were noticing her withdrawal symptoms. She was hyper, overly emotional, and definitely spacey. When she was doing her homework, her hands were so shaky that her writing was almost illegible. Now granted I was pretty ticked because she's been taking meds for almost 2 years so she should know by now but because of her disability (which is still TBD) she has to constantly be reminded to do things (she still has to be reminded to pee). The worst part was that we couldn't just give her the pill when we noticed she didn't take it. Concerta is a time-release formula and she needs to have 8-10 hours for it to run through her system. So because she was literally tearing up the house and she couldn't be trusted around Chase, we had her spend the day in her room, let her watch some movies and play with her Ponyville. It was actually better for her to hang out there than to be over-stimulated by everything else.
Tomorrow I'll make for certain that she takes it. I hate the fact that she needs medication to function but I'll take that over what she'd be like without it for sure.
