My wonderful 2 year old, Chase, has always been a bit of a rebel. Shoot, that just comes with being two. But over the past few days he has really been walking a fine line. His behavior has gotten really ridiculous. Let me just run down a list of the things he's managed to do:-opened the laptop and pulled off keys
-sneaked into the bathroom and dumped out an entire bottle of rubbing alcohol (he also did the same thing with cough syrup)
-used his puzzle box as a step stool to reach a roll of tape and unraveled the whole thing
-got into a customer's Avon order and started opening the products
-tried to shampoo my carpet with a bottle of hair mousse
-got into Jorden's DVD drawer and broke her "Meet the Robinsons" completely in half
-stole Jorden's doughnut holes and ate them
-discovered that chasing the cat with Jorden's T-ball bat was a really fun game
-instead of telling us he was "done", which he usually did, he just threw his plate on the floor
-decided that Q-tips would make a fun bath toy and dumped about 100 of them into the water with him
This is just incidents that happened in the past few days. Don't even get me started on other things he's done or the fact that his tantrums are on a whole new level. I know that they call them the "terrible twos" for a reason but jeez. He has spent most of the past few days in timeout. I'm wondering if I'm even getting through to him. When he does get timeout for something he's done, he doesn't commit the specific crime again, he just moves on to another. He wakes up in the morning and I think to myself, "Just go right back to bed cause you'll be sitting there in 20 minutes anyway." *sigh*

I sympathize with you totally! Jacob is 4 and is still giving me such a run for my money. We used to call Chandler "Stitch." The name transferred to Jacob when Chandler started coming out of it. I don't know if Jacob will ever get to transfer the name or if he'll have to keep it for the rest of his life. I mean, he's 4!!!
You're a good mom. Good luck getting through it all!
OK, sooooo Ky decided to take a rock that Sean had painted on in Sunday School (think paperweight size) and throw in the toilet. The rock was just big enough to almost get stuck if it was not manually pulled out before being flushed. Oh, and did I mention that Sean had just used the bathroom and had yet to flush (and no it was not just liquid)?? Most digusting thing I have ever done, AND I REMOVED it not Jamie who was even home at the time....now how's that for growth? ;-) Sean actually cried when I threw the thing away too. How crazy is that??
We've all got our horror stories, that's for sure. Like Jacob, it seems that my 4 y/o will NEVER outgrow it either. But then again, I thought my daughter would throw MEGA-tantrums forever, and she's finally stopped (she is, however SEVEN).
Scotty's not gone quite so far as Ky and the rock in the toilet, but he sure does match Chase...and Scotty's been doing it for YEARS. I worry, though. We had some serious difficulties at birth (we both almost died) and I wonder if the fact that he was deprived of oxygen is now just rearing its ugly head. He doesn't seem to "get it" about consequences. Hannah learned early through consequence training. But Scotty keeps committing the same crimes.
Example: last year, TWICE he pushed the screen out of his bedroom window and was leaning out when my neighbors yelled at him to knock it off (once I was in the bathroom, the other time I was in the kitchen - you expect to be able to do normal things in your house, you know?). I had the windows open to air out the smell (he still wasn't potty trained at that point). I stopped opening the windows.
This week, we had a great spell of weather, along with a not so great spell of ickies (stomach viruses and colds) so I wanted to try and clear out germs. I SPECIFICALLY told him to stay away from the windows because he could fall out (his room is above the garage, so it's on the 2nd story, and over concrete driveway) and get really hurt.
I went around to open other windows, and found him in his room, the screen pushed out and him leaning AGAIN.
It's like he just doesn't make the connection in his brain. Scares me. Like, no impulse control!
