Skate Night!

It's funny but after 3 years of living here, I'm still finding out about things to do. Just this past Sunday I was told that one of the local skating rinks has a "Christian Skate Night". My church was planning to go and but I wasn't sure if we would be able to because Jorden has Jujitsu class on the same night. But at the last minute I discovered that it was do-able so off we went! I was VERY happy that Jason agreed to go as well. We had a very good time.

This was Jorden's second time skating and Chase's first. What I really like about this place is that they carry those Fisher-Price skates for the little ones. Jorden's butt is probably sore because of all the times she fell on it. She did more splits than the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders! Chase, being the daredevil that he is, had no problems getting around although there were times where he preferred to be carried rather than skate.

The most amusing part of the night by far HAD to be when the DJ called people out to play "Red Light, Green Light". I'm not one to turn down a competition so I stashed the kids somewhere and off I went. I got many rounds of applause when after hearing "Red Light!" I tried to stop too quickly and fell on my butt. And after getting sent back several times because the DJ kept saying things like, "Green.....monkey!" I did manage to catch on to his subtle mention of "Green Light!" and became the second winner! It's too bad that I had to sacrifice my knee by going knee-first into the wall to win but hey, whatever it takes to win, right? Even if it is for just a bag of cotton candy!

So that was our night. We left just as they were closing at 9:30pm. Which is a good thing because I didn't think I had any ankles left. The kids got home and went straight to bed. Why is it the most fun things are always the most exhausting?

Souns like fun!! I would keep the skates off and just go for the conversation. =) Oh, I read your comment about Jorden's shenanigans....pretty much matches my two huh? Sean is going to "bless" some poor teacher's heart for sure! =)
